To prevent timing of remote assistance to an automatic driving vehicle from being delayed in a situation that a traffic guide is present.SOLUTION: A vehicle control method controls an automatic driving vehicle comprising at least one camera and at least one microphone. The vehicle control method includes image acquisition processing for acquiring an image around the automatic driving vehicle using the at least one camera. The vehicle control method further includes horn sound detection processing for detecting sounds around the automatic driving vehicle by means of the at least one microphone and detecting a horn sound based on a sound detection result. Moreover, the vehicle control method includes auxiliary notification processing for transmitting the image to a remote assistance system which remotely assists the automatic driving vehicle, before transmitting a remote assistance request to the remote assistance system in response to detecting the horn sound.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
