To provide a sponge material winding device 152 capable of contributing to stable production of a tire with a sponge of high quality.SOLUTION: A winding device 152 comprises a sponge storage cassette 72, a fitting tool 154, and a compression tool 156. The sponge storage cassette 72 comprises a core 102, a shaft part 104, and a restriction member 106. The fitting tool 154 comprises a mounting part 158, a rotary machine 160, and a restraining part 162. The compression tool 156 comprises a pressing member 184 and supporting means 186. The sponge storage cassette 72 can be attached to and removed from the fitting tool 154. The sponge material M passes through between the core 102 and a pressing member 184 when the core 102 rotates, and the sponge material M is compressed when the supporting means 186 brings the pressing member 184 closer to the core 102, so that the sponge material M in a compressed state is wound around the core 102.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 15
