To simply and accurately detect an abnormality of a wheel of a step.SOLUTION: A passenger conveyor according to an embodiment comprises: a first member that is provided on a traveling surface of one of a pair of wheels of one of a pair of guide rails, supports a part of the one wheel, and tilts the one wheel when the one wheel is in a rattling state; a second member that is provided on a traveling surface of the other of the pair of wheels of the other of the pair of guide rails and at a position opposed to the first member to allow the other wheel to float; and an abnormality detection unit that detects a rattling state of the one wheel based on the inclination of the one wheel in the first member. The abnormality detection unit includes: a sound collector provided on a traveling path of the pair of wheels; and a detection unit that detects a rattling state of the wheel based on traveling sound of the wheel collected by the sound collector.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 12
