To provide a polymer filler which has a small average particle size and can improve a balance between tanδ(0°C) and tanδ(60°C) when being blended with a rubber composition, and a method for producing the same.SOLUTION: A polymer filler contains at least a liquid crystal polymer and has an average particle size of 500 μm or less, and has a ratio ((ABS-1)/(ABS-2)) of absorbance (ABS-1) of a peak in the vicinity of 1280 cm-1 to absorbance (ABS-2) of a peak in the vicinity of 1530 cm-1, which are measured using an FT-IR (ATR method), of 4.0 or less.SELECTED DRAWING: None
