To provide a traffic operation monitoring system which reduces the effect of a traffic incident that affects vehicle operation in spots, such as a platform or a railroad crossing, or a bridge or tunnel of a national highway/expressway.SOLUTION: A method includes: imaging, by a monitoring camera 100, a high-definition video at a monitoring spot of a railroad or an expressway; converting video electric signals output from the monitoring camera to optical signals without delay through an optical transmitter 101; and transmitting the signals to a remote place through an optical transmission path including optical fibers 120-122 with low delay. In the remote place, optical receivers 103, 104 convert the transmitted optical signals into video electric signals without delay. The signals are presented by a surveillance monitor 105 to a monitoring person and simultaneously applied to an image analyzer 106 to detect the presence/absence of a risk event. When the risk event is detected, an alarm signal is automatically issued. The alarm signal is transmitted to the monitoring spot and issued from an alarm emitter.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2

    【課題】交通機関において鉄道のプラットホームや踏切、高速自動車国道・自動車専用道路の橋梁やトンネルといった地点で車両運行に支障をきたす事態が発生した場合に、その影響の低減化する交通運行監視システムを提供する。【解決手段】方法は、鉄道や自動車道路の監視対象地点の高精細映像を監視用カメラ100で撮像し、監視用カメラから出力される映像電気信号を光信号へ遅延を加えることなく光トランスミッタ101で変換したのち、光ファイバ120~122を含む光伝送路で遠隔地へ低遅延で伝送する。遠隔地では、伝送された光信号を光レシーバ103、104で映像電気信号に遅延を加えることなく変換し、それを表示する監視用モニタ105で監視員に提示すると同時に画像解析機器106に印加して危険事象の有無を検出し、危険事象を検知した際には警報信号を自動的に発生する。警報信号は、監視対象地点に伝送され、警報発出機器から警報を発出する。【選択図】図2
