To realize a structure of a hub unit bearing which can achieve low torque and prevent occurrence of a crack of a relief groove.SOLUTION: A hub ring 8 has: a large flange part 16 protruding from a portion located adjacent to the axial outer side of an inner ring raceway 10a of an axial outer row to the radial outer side; a relief groove 17 which connects an axial inner surface 16a of the large flange part 16 with the inner ring raceway 10a of the axial outer row and has a cross section having a recessed arc shape; a heat treatment hardening layer 25 formed in a range, which includes at least the inner ring raceway 10a of the axial outer row and the large flange part 16, of an outer peripheral surface; and recessed parts 19 which are recessed from an axial outer surface to the axial inner side and disposed at an equal interval in a circumferential direction.
