To suppress occurrence of misdetection when an information processing device of a vehicle detects an obstacle using a sensor in a mechanical car parking facility.SOLUTION: A parking assistance system comprises: an information processing device which is mounted to a vehicle and detects an obstacle in the surrounding of the vehicle on the basis of output of a vehicle-side sensor that is mounted to a vehicle and senses the surrounding of the vehicle; and a mechanical car parking facility which is installed in a parking lot and provided with a mirroring unit that mirrors an object. The parking assistance system further includes a setting unit that sets a mode regarding the mirroring unit so that, when the vehicle is automatically driven, the object mirrored in the mirroring unit during object detection in the information processing device is not recognized by the information processing device.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 12
