To provide a tentative retention structure that tentatively and preferably retains a component at a member to be fixed despite the simple structure.SOLUTION: A tentative retention structure S includes a frame 1 of a vehicle, a component 2 to be fixed to the frame 1, and a hook 3 for use in tentatively retaining the component 2 at the frame 1. The hook 3 has a distal part 31 that is located at a position deviated in a horizontal direction from a center-of-gravity position of the component 2, juts upward out of the component 2, and is passed through a hole 11 formed in the frame 1. The distal part 31 includes a first area 311 that extends through the hole 11, and a second area 312 that extends from the first area 311 so as to bend toward the center-of-gravity position in the horizontal direction. The distal part is formed so that, when the component 2 is hung on the frame 1 with the first area 311 having passed through the hole 11 as a support point, the terminal of the second area 312 is located below the hole 11.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
