To provide a solar power generation satellite capable of maintaining a posture of a satellite with less energy and capable of reducing an operation cost of the solar power generation satellite, and to provide a control method of the solar power generation satellite.SOLUTION: Provided is a long solar power generation satellite 1 including: an antenna 110 for power transmission; a plurality of vertical beams 120 arranged having an interval; a transverse beam 130 for connecting the vertical beams 120 with each other; and one or a plurality of solar battery panels 140. The plurality of vertical beams 120 extend in parallel with or inclined to a longer direction of the solar power generation satellite 1, the antenna 110 for power transmission is provided on one end part side in the longer direction of the solar power generation satellite 1, a power transmission direction of the antenna 110 for power transmission faces the direction in parallel with the longer direction of the solar power generation satellite 1, and the solar battery panels 140 are connected in a rotatable manner with respect to the vertical beams 120.
