배터리 밸런싱 방법 및 시스템이 제공된다. 본 시스템은 직렬로 연결된 복수의 전지, 각 전지에 대한 밸런서, 각 전지의 충전 상태(SOC)를 판단하도록 구성된 모니터 및 마이크로프로세서를 포함한다. 마이크로프로세서는, 최소 Q 전지와 최대 Q 전지의 이론적인 밸런싱에 기초하여, SOC 오차가 제1 임계값 이하일 때까지, SOC 오차를 반복적으로 계산하고; 다음으로, SOC 오차가 제2 임계값 이하일 때까지, 각 밸런서에 대한 순 충전 또는 방전 시간을 이용하여 SOC 오차를 반복적으로 재계산하고; 그리고, 제2 임계값이 만족될 때, 해당하는 계산된 순 충전 또는 방전 시간에 기초하여 각 해당 전지를 물리적으로 밸런싱하도록 각 밸런서에 명령하는 여러 기능들을 수행하도록 구성된다.

    A battery balancing method and system is provided. The system includes a plurality of cells connected in series, a balancer for each cell, a monitor configured to determine a state of charge (SOC) of each cell, and a microprocessor. The microprocessor is configured to perform several functions: to iteratively calculate a SOC error for each cell, based on a theoretical balancing of the Min Q cell and the Max Q cell, until the SOC error is less than or equal to a first threshold; next, to iteratively re-calculate SOC error based on a net charge or discharge time for each balancer until the SOC error is less than or equal to a second threshold; and when the SOC error is less than or equal to the second threshold, to instruct each balancer to physically balance each respective cell based on the respective calculated net charge or discharge time when the second threshold is met.
