The present invention relates to a speed reducer for an electric vehicle, which reduces a rotary speed of a driving motor, amplifies a torque, and transfers power to a drive shaft. According to the present invention, a housing (10) is divided into a left indoors unit (12) and a right indoors unit (13) by a main body central unit (11). The left indoors unit (12) and the right indoors unit (13) are arranged to face each other. In the left indoors unit (12), disposed are a left input shaft (LS1), a left output shaft (LS2), and a left speed reducing gear means (20) which reduces the speed of the rotary power of the left input shaft to transfer the same to the left output shaft (LS2). In the right indoors unit (13), disposed are a right input shaft (RS1), a right output shaft (RS2), and a right speed reducing gear means (30) which reduces the speed of the rotary power of the right input shaft (RS1) to transfer the same to the right output shaft (RS2). On a left side surface (15) of the housing (10), a left driving motor (40) is mounted. A drive shaft (41) of the left driving motor (40) is connected to the left input shaft (LS1). On a right side surface (16) of the housing (10), a right driving motor (50) is mounted. A drive shaft (51) of the right driving motor (50) is connected to the right input shaft (RS1). A left drive shaft (60) for transferring power to a left driving wheel of the electric vehicle is connected to the left output shaft (LS2). A right drive shaft (70) for transferring power to a right driving wheel of the electric vehicle is connected to the right output shaft (RS2).

    본 발명은 구동모터의 회전속도를 감속하고 토오크(torque)를 증배하여 구동축(drive shaft)으로 동력을 전달하는 전기 자동차용 감속기에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에 따른 전기 자동차용 감속기는 하우징(10)이 본체 중앙부(11)에 의해 좌측 실내부(12)와 우측 실내부(13)로 구분되어, 좌측 실내부(12)와 우측 실내부(13)가 서로 마주보게 배치되며, 좌측 실내부(12)에 좌측 입력축(LS1)과 좌측 출력축(LS2) 그리고 좌측 입력축의 회전동력을 감속하여 좌측 출력축(LS2)으로 전달하는 좌측 감속기어수단(20)이 배치되고, 우측 실내부(13)에 우측 입력축(RS1)과 우측 출력축(RS2) 그리고 우측 입력축(RS1)의 회전동력을 감속하여 우측 출력축(RS2)으로 전달하는 우측 감속기어수단(30)이 배치되며, 하우징(10)의 좌측면(15)에 좌측 구동모터(40)가 장착되어, 좌측 구동모터(40)의 구동축(41)이 좌측 입력축(LS1)과 연결되고, 하우징(10)의 우측면(16)에 우측 구동모터(50)가 장착되어, 우측 구동모터(50)의 구동축(51)이 우측 입력축(RS1)과 연결되며, 좌측 출력축(LS2)에 전기 자동차의 좌측 구동륜으로 동력을 전달하기 위한 좌측 구동축(60)가 연결되고, 우측 출력축(RS2)에 전기 자동차의 우측 구동륜으로 동력을 전달하기 위한 우측 구동축(70)가 연결되는 것을 특징으로 한다.
