The present invention relates to a navigation apparatus having a safe route setting function of a leisure ship. A navigation apparatus, which a navigator of a leisure ship carries, comprises: a GPS receiver which receives a GPS signal transmitted from a GPS satellite; a memory unit in which a navigation application including sea map information is installed; a control unit which analyzes the GPS signal received from the GPS receiver, extracts navigation information including current position, speed, and orientation, and displays the navigation information on the sea map information; and a touch screen which displays a sea map to which the navigation information is applied. According to the invention, by providing the navigation application by which a user can easily navigate to a destination by constructing a route on the sea, even novice navigators can efficiently use the navigation apparatus when possessing a popular smart apparatus such as a smartphone, without constructing a separate vessel traffic system.
