According to the present invention, disclosed are an apparatus for controlling a vehicle using a fingerprint and a method thereof. According to the present invention, the apparatus for controlling a vehicle using a fingerprint comprises: a fingerprint recognition unit installed in a steering wheel to recognize a fingerprint; an operation switch to operate the fingerprint recognition unit; a storage unit storing a finger corresponding to the fingerprint and an operation signal of an electronic device corresponding to the finger; and a control unit determining a touched finger by receiving a fingerprint recognition result from the fingerprint recognition unit in accordance with an operation state of the operation switch, and reading an operation signal corresponding to the finger determined from the storage unit to be outputted in the electronic device.

    본 발명은 지문에 의한 차량 제어장치 및 그 방법이 개시된다. 본 발명의 지문에 의한 차량 제어장치는, 지문을 인식하기 위해 조향휠에 설치되는 지문인식부; 지문인식부를 작동시키기 위한 작동스위치; 지문에 대응되는 손가락과 손가락에 대응되는 전자장치의 작동신호를 저장하는 저장부; 및 작동스위치의 조작상태에 따라 지문인식부로부터 지문 인식결과를 입력받아 터치된 손가락을 판단하고, 저장부로부터 판단된 손가락에 대응되는 작동신호를 읽어와 전자장치에 출력하는 제어부;를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 한다.
