According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, a BMS semiconductor device having a leakage current detection function includes: a comparator for comparing and outputting voltages of a balancing terminal connected to a positive voltage terminal of a battery cell and a lower sensing terminal connected to a negative voltage terminal of the battery cell; an ADC for sensing the voltage difference between the upper sensing terminal connected to the positive voltage terminal of the battery cell and the lower sensing terminal thereof; and a leakage current determination unit which sets a variable threshold value according to the voltage difference sensed by the ADC and determines whether leakage current occurs using a comparison result of the comparator and a variable threshold value. Accordingly, the leakage current can be detected by adding a simple comparator without adding a separate ADC to a battery balancing stage.

    본 발명의 바람직한 실시예에 따른 누설전류 검출 기능을 구비한 BMS 반도체 장치는, 배터리 셀의 양전압단에 연결되는 밸런싱단과 상기 배터리 셀의 음전압단에 연결되는 하위 센싱단의 전압을 비교하여 출력하는 비교기, 상기 배터리 셀의 양전압단에 연결되는 상위 센싱단과 상기 하위 센싱단의 전압차를 센싱하는 ADC, 및 상기 ADC에서 센싱한 전압차에 따라 가변 임계값을 설정하고, 상기 비교기의 비교결과와 상기 가변 임계값을 이용하여 누설전류 발생 여부를 판단하는 누설전류 판단부를 포함한다.
