The present invention relates to a battery control method for charging or discharging a battery of an electric vehicle, and a battery system providing the same. The battery system of the present invention comprises: a main battery; an inlet connected to an external charger through an outlet; a bi-directional On-Board Charger (OBC) which converts an AC power supplied from the external charger through the inlet into a DC power to charge the main battery in a charge mode, and converts a high-voltage DC power discharged from the main battery into a low-voltage DC power and supplies the same to a load in a discharge mode; and a relay controlling electrical connection between the bi-directional OBC and the inlet or electrical connection between the bi-directional OBC and the load.

    본 발명은, 전기 자동차의 배터리를 충전 또는 방전하는 배터리 제어방법 및 이를 제공하는 배터리 시스템에 관한 것으로, 본 발명의 배터리 시스템은, 메인 배터리, 아웃렛을 통해 외부 충전기와 연결되는 인렛, 충전모드에서 상기 인렛을 통해 상기 외부 충전기로부터 공급되는 교류전력을 직류전력으로 변환하여 상기 메인 배터리를 충전하고, 방전모드에서 상기 메인 배터리로부터 방전된 고전압 직류전력을 저전압 직류전력으로 변환하여 부하에 공급하는 양방향 OBC(On-Board Charger), 그리고 상기 양방향 OBC와 상기 인렛의 전기적 연결, 또는 상기 양방향 OBC와 상기 부하의 전기적 연결을 제어하는 릴레이를 포함한다.
