A method includes storing a plurality of passenger profiles regarding passengers of a vehicle where each of the plurality of passenger profiles includes a pre-stored physical characteristic of a respective passenger associated therewith and the pre-stored physical characteristic includes at least one of a height of the respective passenger or a typical head position of the respective passenger within a seat of the vehicle; acquiring passenger identifying data regarding an identity of a present passenger in the vehicle; identifying a respective passenger profile associated with the present passenger from the plurality of passenger profiles based on the identity of the present passenger; and controlling a speaker positioned within the vehicle based at least in part on the pre-stored physical characteristic included with the respective passenger profile to emit noise-canceling sound waves to generate a noise suppression zone to suppress sound waves perceived by the present passenger.
