This bachelor thesis was written as part of the ALBACOPTER® project at the Fraunhofer Institute for Chemical Technology in the Advanced Powertrain Systems department and involves the constructive conception of a coaxial drive unit for an eVTOL (electrical vertical take-off and landing) transport aircraft. A direct-cooled high-performance electric motor drives two counter-rotating propeller units via a reduction gearbox. In addition to topological gearbox arrangements, various pitch adjustment concepts of the propeller blades were investigated, evaluated by means of utility analysis and implemented in CAD.
