Taking the rim brake of the Three Gorges ship lift bridge machine as the research object, combined with the analysis of the field use, it is found that the motor does not stop after the rim brake is released in place, and the motor brake is used to maintain the pressure of the system, so that the rim brake maintains the state of release. However, the motor runs for a long time and has defects, resulting in overheating of the motor, aging of the insulation layer, shortened life, and potential safety hazards. This paper describes the working principle of the rim brake system. Through the transformation of the two effective schemes of electrical and hydraulic, the purpose of maintaining pressure can be realized after the rim brake is released in place, and the rim brake can maintain the release state. After the late transformation, the electrical equipment can be used in practical work. The electrical equipment can operate reliably, the performance is stable, the pressure is normal, and the motor start and stop achieve the preset effect.
