This paper presents the development of an Autonomous Dynamic Braking System for vehicles that aims to increase road safety and ride comfort by preventing collisions. The proposed system analyses the driving condition and brakes the vehicle automatically if there is a chance of a collision using Time to Collision (TTC), which is estimated from relative velocity, relative distance, and relative acceleration. This algorithm ensures there is no sudden braking unless risk of collision is high. The algorithm ensures a smooth and controlled stop without causing discomfort to the driver or passengers by taking into account the safety of the vehicle and the comfort of the ride while braking. The system considerably increases the vehicle’s safety and riding comfort, according to results. To completely evaluate its efficacy and dependability, additional testing and validation in actual situations are necessary. The Automatic Dynamic Braking System (ADBS) represents a promising solution to improve vehicle safety and could have a significant impact on reducing the number of road accidents and fatalities caused by human error.
