Some of the findings of the EuroBus Project concerning the design of advanced and standardized terminals for public transport passenger information in Europe are presented. The EuroBus prototypes address a set of requirements defined in common, particularly at the level of the external layer perceived by the user. In each city, they use an EC-compatible database (Transmodel data model), and a geographical information system (GIS) on the city network. The resulting product is either an interactive street terminal or a desktop workstation for telephone enquiry offices. The compatibility with audiotex or videotex servers and automated printouts (maps, timetables) is also considered.
