In this paper we report that heating Kr clusters with 150 fs laser pulses can obtain strong X-ray emission in the region of 10 nm-13 nm. We used a chirped pulse amplification Ti:sapphire laser which produces 150 fs laser pulses with energy up to 5 mJ at a wavelength of 800 nm to irradiate Kr clusters. The Kr clusters were produced from a pulsed solenoid valve with a sufficiently Kr backing pressure. The time integrated soft X-ray emission from Kr clusters was detected with a flat-field spectrometer. A X-ray CCD acts as readout system.
