Generally, parallel compensated IPT topology, fed by a current-source inverter is controlled through variable switching frequency and fixed 50% duty cycle method. The load requirements are fulfilled by adding extra dc-dc converter at the output. This paper presents two loop control method for a parallel-series/series compensated IPT topology to achieve dynamic load demands directly though IPT inverter, thereby eliminating extra chopper stage at load side. Instead of variable frequency control, usual fixed frequency and variable duty cycle method is implemented. The detail steady-state operation, converter design, small-signal modelling and control is reported and experimental results obtained from a 1.6kW lab-porotype is included to verify the mathematical analysis.
