Olive stones- based activated carbons produced by three different ways, developed: physical process (CAGOP), chemical process using orthophosphoric acid with carbonization in nitrogen stream giving: CAGOC or with carbonization in steam-nitrogen flow giving: CAGOCom, were used as adsorbents for methane storage under high pressure up to 50 bars. A magnetic microbalance was been used to investigate the uptake of these supports. Up to 50 bars using a gravimetric method, an important amount of about 70 mg/g was obtained for adsorption on CAGOC having a moderate specific Brunauer, Emmett and Teller area BET about 1140 m2/g with the highest adsorption rate of about 1,57 mg/g.bar.
