The characteristics of widespread port, long pilotage routes and complex navigation environment in the pilotage waters of Guangzhou port bring about the problems of long pilotage time and high pilotage risk to the pilotage operation of Guangzhou port. And the siting of pilot boarding waters is related to the safety of pilotage operation, the navigation safety of surrounding ships and the operation efficiency of the port. Based on the analysis of the characteristics and requirements of the pilot boarding waters, this paper elaborates the optimal siting scheme for the pilot boarding waters at Guangzhou Port, which establishes a multi-objective siting model for the pilot boarding waters, combines the actual situation of the pilotage operation in Guangzhou Port and the pilotage area, and uses genetic algorithm to solve the model problem. Compared with the current setting situation of pilot boarding waters at Guangzhou Port, this paper also explores whether there is a better setting and siting scheme for pilot boarding waters.
