In recent days traffic congestion poses various challenges, leading to detrimental outcomes such as fatalities resulting from delayed response times of emergency vehicles enroute to critical destinations. Consequently, our primary focus is on mitigating traffic congestion within society to facilitate unimpeded movement for emergency vehicles. The project is structured into three key phases. The first phase involves implementing a 4-way ultrasonic control system. In the second phase, signals without vehicle presence are promptly skipped, allowing for the progression to the next signal. The third phase entails the development of a program specifically tailored for emergency situations. Notably, the traffic lights are adjusted to activate precisely when the frequency of emergency vehicles aligns with the sensor's operational range. The strategic placement of the sensor at an optimized distance ensures an efficient traffic signal control system, effectively managing traffic flow at a designated intersection. In instances where none of the sensors detect a signal, the traffic lights seamlessly revert to the standard ultrasonic delay function.
