The demand of standalone solar photovoltaic system based water pumping systems has been increasing in the remote areas. In this paper a "Solar PV fed pumping system" using improved zeta function based buck-boost-converter has been presented. A BLDC drive based pumping system is considered for water pumping application. The maximum power point tracking of the Solar PV fed pumping system under different irradiation levels has been investigated. Simulation of the proposed topology has been carried out on the MATLAB/Simulink software. The simulated results presented in this paper validate the scheme.
