Not as widey known is that he has been credited with the initial publication of the KaIman Filtering methodolagy. Swerling endlessly derived original, innovative, analytical techniques for designing radar systems. He developed models for low observable targets used in assessing techniques for reducing the radar cross-section of air vehicles, as well as a variety of other applications for radar technology.
