With the advancement in the development of cost-effective Software Defined Radio technology, spoofing of GNSS aided systems has become easy and became a tool to protect both civilian and defence assests. One such system which can be threat to assests is GNSS aided drone. This paper concentrates on how the off-the shelf general purpose economical drones such as Holy Stone HS700 can be spoofed. In this work the GPS spoofing is accomplished by using GPS-SDR-SIM and HackRF One SDR. The spoofing attack on drone is successfully implemented in both static and dynamic modes. Based on the experimental results it is found that this type of drone is easily susceptible to spoofing effects. Also, the aspect of avoiding the trespassing of drones into prohibited areas is investigated. It is proved that simple economical spoofing techniques are sufficient to protect the sensitive zones from ordinary drones.
