This paper titled “Vehicle Density Based Traffic Management System” provides a comprehensive design and construction of an efficient and intelligentfour-way vehicle traffic system which is a closed system capable of altering its time transition with respect to the vehicle density currently present at each lane, so to say, it has a dynamic time transition dependent upon its feedback mechanism (infrared sensors). The infrared sensors are used to detect the densities of vehicles on each lane and the time transition is updated according to the data received by the microcontroller from the infrared sensors. This system is designed such that each lane has four vehicle density variations and each vehicle density variation is set to a specific countdown time; as the vehicle density of each lane varies, the time allocated to the respective lane also varies in accordance and thus, giving higher priorities to lanes with higher vehicle densities and lower priorities to lanes with fewer vehicle densities or none at all.
