In this paper, using Wigner distribution function (WDF), we analyze time-frequency properties of few-optical-cycle pulses nonlinearly propagated in photonic crystal fibers (PCFs) and tapered fibers (TFs), in particular, negative group-delay dispersion (GDD), zero-dispersion wavelength (/spl lambda//sub ZD/), and their phase compensation by a 4-f phase compensator with a spatial light modulator (SLM).
