Intelligent vehicle-infrastructure cooperative system plays an increasingly greater role in the intelligent traffic system, this paper designs an intelligent vehicle-infrastructure cooperative system based on 5G mobile edge computing in order to improve the network latency of data transmission and asymmetric cryptographic algorithm was used to ensure the security of data. The system consists of four function modules: road side unit, on board unit, mobile edge computing equipment, central cloud platform, to realize the fusion processing of vehicle-road-edge-central cloud four-level data. The adaptive cruise model based on safe time distance of self-driving vehicle was used to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the system. Compared with the 4G vehicle-infrastructure cooperative system, the data transmission delay is reduced by 60% to 80%. Thus the short delay, high reliability and high speed vehicle-infrastructure cooperative system are realized, and provides a useful reference for the design and development of an efficient, safe and environmentally friendly intelligent traffic system.
