The transportation sector is growing rapidly all over the world. This growth brings with it some problems. The continuous increase in carbon emission and energy consumption in the world is one of these problems. Today, electric vehicles are considered to be the most suitable solution for reducing air pollution and fuel consumption. In order to reduce pollution and global warming in the world, it is of great importance to increase the share of renewable energy in meeting the energy need and to increase the number of electric vehicles in transportation. It is predicted that the number of electric vehicles will increase significantly in the coming years. It is predicted that some problems will arise with the introduction of electric vehicles. With the spread of electric vehicles day by day, the charging systems of these vehicles are also becoming one of the issues that attract attention. It is clear that supplying the energy previously provided with fossil fuels with electrical energy will impose an extraordinary load on the grid. It can be said that this load will directly increase with the increase in the number of electric vehicles and will cause problems in areas where the grid is weak. In this study; how electric vehicles are charged, their integration into the electricity grid and their possible effects on the electricity grid and the optimization of charging stations are discussed.
