Advanced Driver Assistance Systems technology has deeply employed by major car makers for addressing safety issues. From intelligent car driver drowsiness monitoring systems to automatic driving scene understanding systems, the ADAS technologies allows to significantly improve both driving comfort and safety. The target of this research investigation is to propose a driving safety assessment system based on deep architecture equipped with self-attention Criss-Cross mechanisms for performing a car driver drowsiness monitoring driven by an intelligent classification of the road surface. The retrieved driving safety assessment performance confirmed the effectiveness of the proposed pipeline.
