A novel electromagnetic band gap structure made of several stacked sub-wavelength hole arrays is presented. Simulation results show its potential in dichroic filters applications. A prototype operating in the millimeter wave frequency range has been fabricated and measured by means of a quasioptical vector network analyzer. The experimental results confirm the potential of these novel structures in order to obtain novel and surprising electromagnetic properties.
