This article presents a finite-time prescribed performance control scheme for the attitude tracking problem of reusable launch vehicles during the terminal area energy management flight. The proposed control solution offers the possibility to enforce the bound performance function to zero. The attitude tracking error is thus able to reach zero, and thanks to the proposed control theory, it occurs in finite time. Besides, the proposed control framework mitigates potential singularity issues near the boundary. The robustness of the proposed attitude control loop against uncertainties is demonstrated using the interval theory. Parameters tuning of the control algorithm is also discussed in detail, and some simulations demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed approach.
