Extremely high frequency millimeter wave communication systems are essential for future wireless systems to address the continuous growth in data traffic. Reliable beam tracking is imperative to reduce the beam training overhead generated during the beam re-alignment phase in mobility scenarios. In this paper, we propose a beam tracking algorithm assisted by high-precision user position information estimated using multiple technologies. The proposed algorithm is based on particle filter algorithm, which leverages location information, gathered on a localization server to accelerate the beam tracking process. The simulation results show that the proposed approach has an improved mean square error of angle of arrival estimation of around 58% as compared to the conventional mmWave technology positioning-aided beam tracking. The tracking performance of the proposed algorithm is improved at higher antenna array sizes and lower angle variances.
