An important characteristic of railway line for passenger traffic transportation is the punctuality of train operation. The condition of railway line for passenger traffic is significantly important to the normal transport organization of the station and influences whether the punctual operation of the train can be guaranteed or not. In order to guarantee efficient operation consistent with the train diagram, it is necessary to arrange appropriate Arrival and Departure Tracks (AD Tracks) for trains. In this paper, we build an optimized model considering the balanced use of the AD Tracks and the walk distance. The model is solved by MATLAB software based on a genetic algorithm. To demonstrate the effectiveness and efficiency of the developed model we conduct a case study based on the adapted data-set offered by Shijiazhuang High-speed Railway Station.
