Integration of algorithms for multidestination routing and real-time intersection control and their relation to the ITS architecture are presented in this paper. The simplified version of the national ITS architecture is given, retaining the relevant components. A decentralized dynamic routing strategy and a real-time intersection control are derived. Their integration can be fit into the ITS architecture. A simulation of rush hour at the Ohio State University (OSU) is shown, which illustrates the claim that integration can improve traffic.
