As the popularity of electric vehicles (EVs) soars, we anticipate that almost everyone with a solar or wind charging station will be put in place using a solar energy system at their residence in the coming years or a wind turbine (WT) installed in the vehicle itself. EVs must run on renewable energy sources. The majority of people think that charging an electric vehicle (EV) should take no longer than 2–4 minutes, much like stopping at a petrol station to fill up your car with fuel. Electric charging will be different from what consumers are used to, even though Tesla's superchargers are attempting to accomplish this precisely. In this study, two off-grid EV battery charging techniques are presented: one uses solar (PV) and energy storage systems (ESS), while the other uses a wind turbine (WT) & ESS installed at the front of the car where airflow is there which will drive the turbine and produce power for battery charging. From simulation results, it is observed that without ESS, PV & WT charges the battery at slow rate i.e 1.5. However with ESS the rate increases to 2. So, it is concluded that PV with ESS is used to charge EVs even if PV power is small. Similarly, this is the case of WT with ESS. WT with ESS charges the battery in a small time compared to PV with ESS as the Vehicle need not have to stop to charge the battery and in running condition, it can be done so.
