The main challenges of transportation include safety, efficiency and convenience in the usage of public transportation thus the need to develop the technological solutions. Presenting in this research is design and Implementation of an RFID-Based Automated Bus Door System incorporating Emergency Alert and Seat Monitoring. Incorporation of RFID technology means that bus doors will open and close automatically excluding unwanted elements from accessing the bus. Another real-time feature is integrated in the program which deals with seats to avoid overcrowding of passengers. Further, there is an added emergency alerting system that exists to quickly respond in case of an emergency thus making passenger safety better. The structure of the system is developed to feature a microcontroller as the control unit and is also responsible for handling data transfers between RFID readers, seat sensors, and alerts. The prototype model developed herein proves that, indeed these technologies can complement each other and be harnessed in a compounded manner, hence forming one interconnected system. The proposed techniques has an experimental complexity of response time with having 60 percent improvement as compared to traditional methods for response times of 210ms, 95 percent accuracy for seat occupancy detection and an energy improvement of 12 percent as compared to traditional methods. The results indicate that the RFID Based Automatic Bus Door System can provide a solid viable solution to upgrade the public transports, enhancing the organizational effectiveness and security of the passengers.
