In recent scenarios petrol and diesel has attained its spike range so normal people cannot rely on continuous usage of these fuels. So, the idea of hybrid vehicles is to minimise the possible ways of pollution. The reason behind choosing auto rickshaw is that it is the most commonly used and an important means of transportation contributing to the huge percentage of public transport in India, most prominently used in the rural areas. The auto-rickshaw has evolved over the years from a hand-pulled rickshaw to a hybrid auto-rickshaw. Normal auto-rickshaw can run with an average mileage of about 45km since the proposed model is powered with a 4-speed transmission system and could run our auto at a maximum speed of 50 km/h thus exceeding the capacity of a normal auto rickshaw. This helps the proposed model to compete with the existing auto-rickshaws with travel costs at much lower rates. Considering rise in fuel price and also under emergency situations where there is no access to fuel our product can rectify this situation because of the readily available electric power source and secondary source of power obtained from mounted solar panels. Similar to a typical auto rickshaw the proposed model can also carry 2–3 passengers in addition to the driver.
