The docking mechanism plays an important role in power transmission between spacecraft. And there're many problems in traditional wired charging method. Thus, this paper proposes a bidirectional wireless power transfer(BWPT) system used in the docking mechanism of spacecraft. Based on this technology, the spacecraft expands its energy storage capacity and can dispatch energy more reasonably through energy interaction with external devices. Different from traditional converters, for the converter in spacecraft, the most important factors that should be paid attention to are the volume and transmission efficiency. According to these characteristics, this paper proposes a BWPT converter which has the advantages of small volume and high efficiency. The converter is developed with a high performance resonant topology and an efficient control strategy. Its feasibility is validated by simulation and experiment.
