Increasingly, the use of Automatic Driving Assist Systems (ADAS) in automobiles has become an important milestone toward a much safer road network system and more comfort during vehicle operation. This paper presents an in-depth review of ADAS in both internal combustion and electric vehicles, focusing on clearly understanding how these systems work in each kind of vehicle. The paper considers operational differences and technological fine points of energy efficiency, sensor technologies, overall performance, and how ADAS merges with vehicle control systems. Furthermore, it takes into account problems in the implementation of ADAS into IC and EVs. It characterizes the prospects for their development, elaborating on how the technology of autonomous driving has evolved and what can be expected soon from this fast-moving industry.
