Infrared instruments often use mechanical cryocoolers to provide cooling to the cryogenic temperatures necessary for their operation. These instruments often also have tight pointing requirements that could be jeopardized by the exported vibrations of the mechanical coolers. This paper presents a collection of exported forces data measured on tactical cry-ocoolers that can be used to assess the feasibility of various coolers for mechanical compatibility with instruments in early stages of development. The cryocoolers measured include the rotary Stirling Ricor K562, K508N and K548 as well as the dual opposing piston pulse tube Lockheed Martin Micro1-1 and Micro1-2 and Thales LPT9510 and LPT9310. The behavior of each cooler is discussed in detail. For the LPT9310, Micro1-2 and K508N the unit-to-unit variability is assessed. In addition, for the dual opposing piston coolers, the effectiveness of active cancellation is discussed.
