In multibeam satellite systems, multigateway architectures have been proposed to utilize the feeder link bandwidth effectively. However, multigateway configurations suffer from intra-beam cluster interference and inter-beam cluster interference, which leads to capacity performance degradation. Cooperation between gateways has become an effective scheme to eliminate interference among adjacent clusters. To maximize the sum rate in multigateway multibeam satellite communication systems while under the satellite transmit power constraints, we propose a robust weighted minimum-mean-square-error (WMMSE) precoding approach through multigateway collaboration with considering practical feeder link interference. Given the estimated channel statistical error, the derived solution converges to a stationary point of the sum-rate maximization problem. Numerical simulations validate the performance of the proposed robust WMMSE precoder, and show the impact of the feeder link interference under multigateway architecture.
