Today, marine pollution has increasingly dangerous impacts on the aquatic ecosystem; break-down chemicals and biologically at possibly increased risk of occurrence of infectious diseases. Thus, a wide range of robotics for collecting waste products that both float on as well as underneath the water has been designed in line with an imperative to reverse these destructive effects of wastes in rivers, lakes and seas. This work reports on a threedimensional design of an affordable lightweight surfacemounted waste collection robot. The robot Solnix has very light weight solar panels where it is capable of gaining its propulsion energy. The development and execution of the work for the design describe the connected systems using Arduino with solar power capability to allow remote operation as well as monitoring of its waste collection operations. The robot has two motors, an L298N motor driver, an HC-05 Bluetooth module, an Arduino Uno, two batteries, and a solar panel. The prototype also contains all the necessary parts like a solar panel, a battery, and DC motors. A 5 V solar panel is connected to a battery, which in turn powers a 3.7 V DC motor. The robot is provided with a GPS system. This system will enable navigation alongside the river and will take the robot back to the exact point from where it originated. A Camera is fitted to capture images and detect them, thereby by the collected data, the travelator starts collecting garbage. A weed tank at the bottom of the robot will release water purifying weeds. This solar-powered water surface-cleaning robot works effectively to enhance environmental quality in rivers and towards a better planet. It can continue running by itself without the need for an external power source. The concept is a route to the critical issue of floating waste that causes pollution in rivers.
