This paper deals with liquid-cooled aviation starter generators. An analytical method for calculating the hermetic seals of aircraft electric machine with completely flooded stator is developed. The calculations are made for the 150 kW electric machines with completely flooded stator with a rotational speed of 24,000 rpm by calculation and FEM methods. In addition, the material selection and their properties are described in the paper. Based on the obtained calculation results, an experimental full-scale prototype is developed and its test results are presented. As a result of experimental studies it was found that the discrepancy between the calculations and the experiment is 10-12%. At the same time, the starter generator has a tightness which confirms the correctness of the proposed method for calculating the sealing units.
