The growing demand for efficient and reliable public transportation systems has pushed the need for innovation in fare collection and passenger validation. The proposed model automates fare collection and passenger validation in public transportation. This system uses RFID smart cards for cashless and paperless transactions, integrated with GPS technology for real-time fare calculation based on the distance traveled. A cloud-based system manages passenger data, enabling efficient monitoring and reporting. The system was tested for accuracy, speed, and user satisfaction. Results show a fare calculation accuracy ranging between 97.22% and 99.47%, ensuring minimal discrepancies. The average ticket generation time was approximately 1.7 seconds, providing a smooth boarding experience. System performance was evaluated using real-time operation metrics, including data transmission latency (120 ms) and GPS data update intervals (5 seconds). Passenger satisfaction surveys revealed an overall score of 4.5 out of 5, indicating high user acceptance. The integration of IoT and AI technologies in the system demonstrates improved efficiency, security, and passenger convenience, providing a modern solution to public transport fare management. Future work could focus on enhancing GPS accuracy and reducing latency for even better system performance.
