In this paper, we propose an original method for user/passenger trips on public transport reconstruction based on indirect information about these trips. As the user trip, we consider the actual passenger travel itinerary from the departure point to the destination point on a specific public transport vehicle. Indirect information refers to the request data of passengers at stops about the expected public transport arrival time. Since the specified data does not contain an explicit indication of what kind of trip the passenger performs, we call such information indirect. To test the efficiency of the proposed method and assess its effectiveness, a number of computational experiments were carried out on synthesized model data taking into account the statistics of real transport traffic in Samara, Russia. We evaluate the method effectiveness as the dependence of the empirical probability of correct trip reconstruction on the number of completed trips. Based on conducted experiments, we can conclude that the proposed algorithm confirmed its efficiency.
