GPS receiver has accurate and reliable positioning and timing capabilities. It can be widely used in the military field and civilian fields. As a result of the spread spectrum communication system, GPS receiver needs signal acquisition, signal demodulation and the navigation message to get the first time position. The shorter the capture time is, the better the first time position performance is. Since GPS signal acquisition is performed on the two-dimensional area of code phase and carrier frequency, increasing the degree of parallelism can minimize the capture time. In this paper, a PMF + FFT fast acquisition scheme is presented. PMF is used to achieve parallel code phase search. Then, FFT is used to realize the carrier frequencies parallel search. ARM + FPGA-based hardware platform is used to achieve the quick capture algorithm. The major advantage of this algorithm is that the flexible configuration parameters can be configured for different acquisition speed and sensitivity.
